Phu Quoc is an island in the Gulf of Thailand, but it's really part of Vietnam. Cambodia sometimes disagrees, but anyway. The blue dot is me.
Here's a close up map. The beaches and tropical vibe make it appealing though it's not super developed (yet) and is pretty small. Less than 20% of the size of Rhode Island, which is not even an island at all.
It's famous here for producing Fish Sauce (hooray!) and it's special breed of Phu Quoc island dog (double hooray!).
The airport is easy, the food is great, and the atmosphere is idyllic. It won't be so quiet for much longer I'm sure.
