First day off the bikes so we hit the beaches that make this part of Thailand (Krabi) famous. Wanted to check out Hong Island, but found out the hard way that a trip there needed to be booked in advance at least a day since it's a little ways out.

We took a long tail boat (above) instead around the bay to check out Railay Beach (below). It's a cool bay that is surrounded by limestone cliffs and great for rock climbing apparently.
We hung there for a bit until we were getting picked up for a "7 Islands Sunset Cruise." The boat company is called Pranang and you probably should not use them. Happy to share more if you're heading to Krabi.
We stopped at Poda island which was awesome. Most of the tourists go in the morning so the afternoon was more chill. Here is a picture of a dumps tourist ruining a really nice photograph of Poda Island.
The water is quite warm here which is a real treat. You can see where it turns dark like 40m out, so there's a steep drop off.
We then hit a couple islands for snorkeling. The warm water is nice and we were able to see sea urchins, parrot fish, barracuda, angel fish, and some others. The coral isn't breathtaking and it's seems so unregulated that I'm not really surprised.
Note: rising water temps (#globalwarming) also cause coral bleaching and coral death so that contributes to the prevalence of white coral. :(
Here's Chicken Island, named for it's weird shape that isn't visible here. The long tail boats are everywhere and pretty versatile since they can pull right into shore with no motor in the way.
We saw the sunset from this island before we went to Tup island for a beach grilled dinner. That part sounds awesome but it got dark really quick and I was hangry so it's just so so.
The islands were beautiful overall and the giant limestone formations sticking out of the ocean made the scenery something special.
Glad John made it to his king suite. I hope the seafood pancake was everything you could hope for.
